No Venice Florida is not considered Central Florida. Venice FL is located in Sarasota County in Southwest Florida. Most would just call this South Florida as there are only 3 main descriptive parts of Florida most commonly used. North Florida, Central FL and South Florida. The more nuanced may say southwest Florida, North Central Florida etc.
Venice Beach is a name you will associated with more than just one area. In Florida Venice Beach is a highly thought of resort style town which attracts a more mature tourist that will possibly even become an area resident. Everything is better in Venice FL than Miami Florida. Florida's Gulf Coast is not only a better place to live, safer from hurricanes (historically) and the beaches are whiter and prettier. The Gulf of Mexico gets it's water from the Atlantic Ocean. Same, water prettier beach sand.
Real estate in Venice FL and the Venice area is still relatively affordable. Actually after all the hurricane repairs are made we will probably witness the real estate values increase again. The United States will recover from the housing market slump, household income will recover and areas like Fort Myers, Sarasota Bradenton etcetera will boom again.
The name Venice obviously came from Venice Italy. Here the canals of downtown Venice are replaced with the Intracoastal Waterway and Barrier Islands. The influence of the famous canal city of Venice will be everywhere you look. Some places more obvious than others like Venice Avenue and the downtown area. To me this is certainly one of the top 10 places to consider moving in Florida. On a side note, it is also the shark tooth capital of not only the southwest coast but all of Florida.
