Harbour Island is located south of Downtown Tampa FL. There are only two roads leading onto this private paradise and both of them flow in and out of Downtown Tampa. The Garrison Channel separates the two.
Harbour Island was formerly known as Seddon Island according to the history books. Seddon Island had its' beginnings long ago and formerly associated with the phosphate industry and lumber yards. Thankfully there was a great idea for the development. An idea more appealing to the eye and yes to the pocket book. The first phase of homes were built on Harbour Island in the 1980's.
Believe it or not single family homes make up a very low percentage of the Harbour Island residences. Well over 50% of the residents live in condos. Some of the locals live in townhomes but only around 2 townhomes will sell here each month compared to around 8 condos. That is far from the overwhelming number of single family houses in South Tampa Florida.
The location could not be much better. In minutes you can be in Downtown Tampa walking or riding to one of the many restaurants or doing some shopping in the city. Then just a quick retreat back inside of your gated neighborhood on Harbour Island and all is well once again.
