No Naples is not considered Central Florida. Naples Florida is in the northwest corner of Collier County and just under 100 miles south of Central Florida. Most would say Naples is located in Southwest Florida although commonly it is referred to as just South Florida.
One of the best what? Everything. The United States has thousands of towns and hundreds in the state of Florida alone. Naples just happens to be on the Gulf of Mexico and have some of the most beautiful white sand beaches in all of south Florida. Miami Dade, Fort Lauderdale and Key West dream of having beach sand this color.
Downtown Naples Florida also has such better traffic and is so much safer and more pleasant there is just no comparison. If this area experiences a real estate market crash I highly advise you to make a long term purchase here.
Because it is interesting, The Naples Town Improvement Company began in the autumn of 1886 to establish a small town named Naples FL, loosely based on the Italian peninsula, and develop to mainly be a fall and winter retreat. The Town Improvement company purchased 3,700 acres between the Gulf of Mexico and the area known as Naples Bay for just over $11,100 or believe it or not $3 an acre.
Over the next few years Mr. Williams and Haldeman built homes along the beach and simultaneously hired a firm in Fort Myers to build a nice pier and have survey teams plan the city. At the center of this city was a then 16-room hotel just two blocks inland from the new pier on a thin piece of land lying between the beach and the bay.
The hotel opened in 1889 and Rose Cleveland who was the sister of President Cleveland (the 22nd and 24th President of the United States), was the very first guest. Southern Florida was never the same. Present Day Naples is part of what is called the Paradise Coast. If you love beaches and fishing I highly advise you to check out Naples Florida.
