Often overlooked. That is the best way and some would say the best thing about Clearwater Beach and Clearwater International Airport. Few know the Tampa Bay area has more than one international airport and to be honest there are many more flights out of Tampa. Still for some flying into downtown Clearwater makes more sense and is a few minutes closer. The Tampa International Airport is only 20 to 25 minutes from the gulf coast.

When most think of a visit to beaches located in the southeast cities like Miami or some other metropolitan areas in South Florida like Fort Lauderdale etc. They don't know about the year round sunshine and the white sand here is far better than on the east coast. The summer heat often gets far to intense for the theme parks and West Central Florida is where the more informed tourists come. Specifically the St Petersburg Clearwater beach coastal areas are by far the best.
