What Is Considered Central Florida?

From Tampa Bay to Cape Canaveral is considered Central Florida. There are a total of 13 counties which make up the Central Florida region and in those counties are many famous cities and places. Orlando Florida, Tampa Florida, The Villages Florida and of course Walt Disney World Resort.

Central Florida's Tampa Bay Area

On the west coast of Central Florida you will find the Tampa Bay area. The central region has to have a best place to actually live and that would be The Tampa Bay area. The counties primarily making up the west coast portion of Central Florida are Pinellas and Hillsborough County. Tampa is one of the 4 major cities in the state and obviously in our opinion the best one to visit or live in. It is also the third of the largest cities population wise.

Entertainment options here include Busch Gardens, Zoo Tampa and the best sports teams in the entire state. Not to mention Clearwater Beach FL, St Pete Beach FL and countless others along the barrier islands. Visit these beaches and you will soon forget about Fort Lauderdale or Miami Beach.

North Central Florida Lake, Marion and Sumpter Counties

The Villages FL is located in these three counties. You may have heard of it. It consists of over 40 square miles of mostly single family homes, golf courses and residents who are 55 years old or older. This is the largest retirement area in the united states. World famous and infamous simultaneously. If you know, then you know.

The Central Part Of Central Florida Means Orlando & Orlando's Attractions

And just like that we are in the center of the state talking about the theme parks. Over 70,000,000 people a year visit this city and its famous theme parks. Mostly via the Orlando International Airport but Interstate-4 and the Florida Turnpike pass through the center of the city and right by the parks. The downtown Orlando area and it's vibrant arts scene often gets overlooked but it to is phenomenal and is a popular destination for locals and the more experienced tourist. Orlando is the fourth largest city in FL.

Walt Disney World is certainly not the only theme park in Central Florida. Universal Resort, Icon Park and countless other smaller parks are in Orange Seminole County areas. Polk County and Winter Haven Florida are in Central Florida and that is where you will find Legoland and Peppa Pig. During those humid summers we have you will love the water park at Legoland Florida Resort. Or for that matter one of the over 70 lakes in Winter Haven and Lake Wales.

Eastward Through The Orange Groves To The Space Coast & Daytona Beach

The Atlantic Coast is where you will find Brevard County and Volusia County the easternmost counties in Central Florida. Cape Canaveral, The Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach make up the Space Coast. Florida's regions probably do not have amore technically advanced portion than Central Florida. Some people may think of this as just rural Florida but most of it is certainly not although the southern charm may persist in some parts of Osceola Counties cities.

Daytona Beach is about as north as you can go in Central Florida. If you don't happen to already know this location is famous for it's speedway, the actual beach, It's Bike Week, Pier and adjacent water park. There is literally no reason to travel south Florida or north Florida to enjoy life. Get yourself a map and pick out one of the towns. One of the many new attractions await you in the very center of this state. Central Florida's residents await you.
