Is Miami Central Or South Florida? East Coast or West Coast?

Miami is South Florida and on the East Coast or Atlantic Ocean side of Florida. Miami is not the furthest city along Southwestern Florida. Miami Florida is however the largest city. Miami Dade County is massive and dense. It is also referred to as the Miami Metropolitan Area.

Miami Florida USA World's Largest Cruise Companies

All major cities in Florida or for that matter in the United States have their unique attractions. Being the largest of the major cities in South Florida what better place to have the world's largest cruise companies. Minutes from downtown Miami is Miami Beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The Bahamas, Puerto Rico and all of the Caribbean is but a pleasurable day or two trip away. Central Florida also offers Cruises, they just take longer and have fewer destinations.

Miami Miami Dade County Performing Arts Centers

Of course the Miami area and especially downtown Miami is an arts centric area. Performing arts centers here are influenced by much more than just the Latin cultures. This major city has a multi ethnic blend that often gets overlooked and the sports teams in the Miami area also overshadow the arts. The more nuanced residents and tourist will appreciate what is offered. There are other performing arts centers scheduled to be built along the southeast coast.

The Legendary Downtown Miami And Miami Beach & Many Entertainment Venues

Downtown Miami and Miami Beach are known of all around the world. Ironically Miami Vice and the cocaine runners were my first knowledge of this area. I was in a Special Ops group and went through an ocean open water survival school in Biscayne Bay by the Turkey Point Power Plant. This was the largest city I had ever been to. Since then I have lived in Miami several times and learned to appreciate everything Miami and southern Florida has to offer.

All large cities have entertainment venues. Miami being the second largest city in Florida certainly does as well. Namely the beaches located here are the most well known but the park system here is also worth touring. We were season pas holders for several of the parks. You can visit anything along Florida's Southwest Coast from September through January and the temperature range is always great.
