What Is The Coldest Month In Central Florida

What Is The Coldest Month In Central Florida?

January is the coldest month in Central Florida. February is the second coldest month edging out December by just one degree lower during the day. Central Florida is said to have 2.7 months of winter but the weather is amazing.

Central Florida

Very Mild Winters Have A Tolerable Low Temperature

The coldest months in Central Florida are December, January and February. Overall the average high temperatures are 72.5 degrees which may seem cool if there is a breeze. The average low temperature is 53.5 degrees which requires a jacket for most visitors to the theme parks at night. It also just so happens that January is the driest month with an average rainfall of around 2 inches for the entire month.

Orlando Temperatures in December, January & February

Up until the time of March Orlando temperatures are fairly cold compared to the rest of the year. Precipitation is also much lower but the yards and golf courses do not need as much and not as much water is evaporating from the lakes and ponds. Visiting Walt Disney World in December is probably my favorite time to go. If you can see Disney at least once during the Christmas Holidays. The city of Orlando will not be as tolerable when temperatures begin to climb in April and May.

Orlando Florida High And Low Temperatures Vs Average Temperature

August and January provide the extremes. In August average temperatures are in the high 90's during the day and mid to high 70's for nighttime lows. Hurricane season is just getting started and will run through mid October hand in hand with the rainy season.

Expect to find a subtropical climate meaning hot weather conditions and almost daily afternoon thunderstorms. The higher humid are makes the perceived temperature far worse in the hottest month of the year. I am getting where it is just to much for me as I grow older. Definitely visit Orlando in the Fall when the sun shines and it is cooler unless you are coming for the water parks.

Tampa Florida Average Temperatures & Cold Weather

Starting in mid October after hurricane season has mostly passed cold weather conditions will begin to show up. This month of the year the warm temperatures of the gulf also begin to go down ever so slowly and the average wind speed and afternoon thunderstorms begin to fade into memory. Mid March will be the time crowds begin to return to the sunshine state so until then the beautiful warm afternoons are all yours.
