Walt Disney World was built in Central Florida for a reason. A great deal of research was done before selecting this part of Florida and spending that much money building theme parks. I think we all would call Walt Disney World an overall success. Because, most of the time the weather is awesome and people enjoy visiting. This is the Sunshine State and trust me, it is a great place to live or visit.
The average rainfall is very manageable and the humid weather is easy to live with. On a hot day in mid September rainfall in Orlando or Tampa provides an afternoon relief. The humidity in July, August and September is of course high and coupled with the higher temperatures even locals will find a way to stay inside. June through September are definitely beach days or a day to visit theme parks like Volcano Bay. The hottest month, I stay inside myself.
The summer months also bring some beautiful summer nights even during the wettest month. The streets and boardwalks will be filled with people all over Central Florida even during hurricane season. The temperature is amazing and with the sun down the ocean breeze will be unforgettable. Don't wait till the driest month or January to visit Tampa or Central Florida.
