May through October are the rainy months in Central Florida. Technically according to the National Weather Service the rainy season extends from May 25th until October 10th for the Central Florida area. The rainy season varies through the North, South and Central Florida.
July, August and September are when the rainy season peaks and most severe storms are likely to occur. Severe storms or severe weather as some call it means the possibility of hurricane season actually effecting you. Living within just 2 hours of either the east coast or west coast you will usually be affected by any unusual weather pattern that comes onshore. But on the bright side those sea breezes are amazing. Hurricane force winds, not so much.
During August some times we get so much rain that seasonal river flooding becomes an issue for some parts of West Central Florida. The summer months are often filled with afternoons where strong gusty winds and frequent lightning break up the summer heat. We try to view it this way. The frequent showers and occasional heavy rainfall keep us from paying to water the lawn as often.
Early September and your thinking one more month. early October and the ocean waters of the Gulf Of Mexico look a lot less threatening. By mid October you will begin to feeling the cooler temperatures we have all been longing for. The average rainfall you will receive each day starts declining rapidly but so does the heat.
