Yes Port Orange Florida is considered to be in Central Florida. Port Orange is part of the Greater Daytona Beach Area (south side of Daytona Beach) and located within Volusia County. This would be the northeastern side of Central Florida and beautiful indeed.
Port Orange Family Days is just one of several events held here throughout the year. During this festival you will see a carnival, a parade with many participants and a wide variety of other types of entertainment and attractions. Also you may want to catch the Lakeside Jazz Festival and the Concerts in the Park held at the Kenneth Parker Amphitheater. If you are into this, a botanical garden developed by the Botanical Gardens of Volusia County named Sugar Mill Gardens is worth checking out.

So, other than Ponce Inlet which is a scenic fishing village located at the south end of the beach there are still many attractions. One of the overlooked ones is the historic Ponce Inlet Lighthouse which is just about as photogenic as they come if you time it right. Port Orange's famous neighbor to the north is where you will find the Daytona Beach International Airport, Daytona Beach bus station, the Daytona Speedway, Pier and water park. I mention these because you do not have to use the Orlando International Airport to reach this city easily. For those so inclined Amtrak auto train service is within 30 miles or Port Orange Florida.
