Morgan Beach in Southwest Florida is the most pristine beach in Florida. Why? It is the most difficult to reach meaning fewer people go to it. You must reach it by boat but that can be done in about 20 minutes from the Goodland Boat Ramp beside Marco Island.
Marco Island is the nearest of the beaches in Florida. It is an actual island and a rather large one. There are just under 7 miles of prime Florida beach on Marco Island. Not to mention a great city complete with everything you will ever need. For a gulf coast beach this one is fairly tough to beat and much of it faces due west for the evening sunset. A perfect place to spend the day in the Sunshine State. South Marco Beach, Residents Beach and Tigertail Beach Park are the main hotspots.
Sanibel Island gets overlooked by many. Not everyone is interested in the benefits of a white sand beach facing due south. The sun is either overhead or within a quick turn of your head all day long. If you choose the right part of this ever so tempting barrier island. The nearest city you may have heard of is Fort Myers.
The lack of the mega beach crowds contribute to the fact that this is still a very pristine beach. Sugar white sands and emerald green waters await you.
Not far to the north is one of the cleanest best maintained beaches in America. Siesta Key Beach on Siesta Key. Often just called Siesta Beach the sand here is almost 100% quartz sand. Walking around any sand dunes here may result with more of a challenge than you anticipate. Stick with the trails till you get comfortable because this is very soft sand. Your going to be thrilled will how cool it stays even during the heat of the summer. Think sea turtles, marine life and the very best of Florida beaches.
It doesn't seem fair that Florida would have all of these amazing beaches. St Pete Beach with it's famous hotels and Clearwater beach with it's famous, well everything. That is why Clearwater Beach constantly does battle for the best beach in the US. It takes more than beach chairs and beach volleyball.
Restaurants, bars, the beachfront promenade and nightly entertainment keep tourism going year round. Not to mention the variety of boating tours and the fishing pier. Don't bother with a car everything is within just a short walk even Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
Both are secluded, both are in Tampa Bay and both are relatively easy to get to. What will you find? Pristine beaches, nature trails, pristine natural beauty and a once in a lifetime experience. It kind of reminds me of Dry Tortugas National Park but with more white sand.
Quite possibly so, in the warmer months. Keep in mind that the Emerald Coast and Amelia Island and St Augustine Beach on the east coast get pretty freaking cold in the winter months. That being said there are only a few beaches here that are overcrowded even during the summer.
Namely the sandy shores of Destin Beach, Henderson Beach State Park, Panama City Beach and Pensacola Beach. Other beaches like Gulf Islands National Seashore, Santa Rosa Beach and Grayton Beach State Park are often not crowded.
The South Walton sand dunes are amazing and so are the beautiful beaches. Often overlooked because it is seasonal is the scuba diving so you can enjoy the underwater world of local ship wrecks and sunken vessels. No need to travel further south in the summer.
Unfortunately the Florida Keys are a little over marketed. Still some local beaches are fairly pristine and of course the Atlantic Ocean provides those magnificent turquoise blue waters. You may like Smathers Beach and there are around 50 others. You will rarely be able to see them from the highway and normally resort residents, and those who choose to live here full time are the primary users. In the Florida Keys, scuba diving, deep sea fishing and the Bohemian Lifestyle are what draw people here.
South Beach & Miami Beach are definitely nor favorites of mine. I hate the traffic and if you are looking for a beautiful beach, go northward on the Atlantic Ocean. Fort Lauderdale Beach and Fort Lauderdale By The Sea are slightly better. Most beach goers are staying locally or going to Hollywood Beach but you may still be able to find parking.
Delray Beach is where much of my family lives. I will always have a fond spot in my heart for Delray Beach and Boca Raton. This is where I married long ago. The beach is always a stones throw from A1A and parking is usually fairly easy in a modest sized car. Not to far away is Palm Beach County where it gets even easier.
Grab a beach chair at Coco Beach and enjoy a South Florida afternoon and rocket launch. Just 7 miles north from the Cocoa Beach Pier is where Space X launches from. Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center are about a 10 minute drive and Walt Disney World is about an hour to the west.
Daytona Beach is much more than just a speedway. Daytona Beach has an amusement park next to the beach and a famous pier. No matter what it is a must see and is fairly close to the Interstate. The only downfall is it's popularity and the sand absolutely is not white sand. The more beautiful beaches and the more pristine beaches are on Florida's Gulf Coast.
