The west coast of Florida has the most amazing beaches in the entire state. There are over 500 miles along Florida's Gulf Coast and over 100 of the states pristine white sand beaches are to be found here. Which will be your favorite? I think I can help you discover it.
Planning and years of experience and marketing has resulted in some incredible popular beaches. Beach towns and survival of the fittest have sprung for a lively entertaining coast with lots to do and to see. Tourist expect the best in Florida and if they are not satisfied they move on to the next beach town. There are some clear winners in each area and yes a best overall. Still we recommend you see at least 5 or 6 before you give up and move here.
Not only is this a white sandy beach but the beach town associated with it offers way more than most, and year round beach access. You can swim here in January if you feel the need. Deep sea fishing, an incredible fishing pier, scuba diving, sea life and bottlenose dolphins that reside year round. There are picnic areas, Clearwater Marine Aquarium and breathtaking views of the sunset. All to be enjoyed year round and not just during the summer months. That is why Clearwater Beach is the best west coast beach.
Imagine walking on sugar only a little finer. This beach is about an hour or so south of Tampa Bay depending on your route. It is a barrier island and a vital part of South Sarasota Florida. from the north end to the south end is about 3 miles which is perfect for a late evening or early morning long walks. Some say this is the #1 beach in America and I would agree but the adjacent town to me is not quite as nice.
Some would say ( and i agree ) that the best west coast beaches are private ones. Or at least ones with some privacy available. That can come by being a lesser known destination even during Spring Break. The soft sand of Marco Island are a fantastic place for sunset views and swimming in the sea is possible year round. The cold side of the gulf coast is hundreds of miles north.
White sands are made for more than just volleyball courts. Shallow waters and that emerald green warmth look like a true jewel waiting to be discovered and enjoyed. I was blessed with living in the Fort Walton Beach, Destin Florida area for 15 years. I have walked Navarre Beach, Pensacola Beach, Grayton Beach and partied hardily in Panama City Beach. These are likely the best beaches in Florida.
Swimming, Okaloosa Island Pier and Navarre Beach Pier and hold on, Pensacola Beach Pier. Yes the Emerald Coast knows how to do beaches. All day long you have spectacular views of the sun and ocean only interrupted by the occasional fishing charter or scuba diving boat. The only thing wrong is it just gets to cold here. Still these beaches are better than any east coast beaches and you are likely to even find a dog friendly beach in the Destin area.
