The parts of Tampa south of Interstate-4 are nice. Those are downtown Tampa, Davis Islands, Harbour Island and South Tampa which includes Hyde Park, SOHO and Westshore. New Tampa to the northeast also has quite the fan club known as Tampa Palms.
How do you know what the best neighborhoods in Tampa Bay are? Well because in America you can still own property you simply follow the money. People are willing to pay more to live in the most affluent neighborhoods because of luxury, quality of life, local schools and entertainment options often within walking distance. Millennials will usually prefer the same attractions.
Downtown Tampa is awesome. Some would say downtown life is not for them but I dare to say that it could be for most of us. It depends on how nice of a place you live and how safe that it is. The downtown Tampa area gets the thumbs up from me except for most young families.
Some of the attractions include Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, Hillsborough River, scenic walking trails, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Amalie Arena, Channel District and Florida Aquarium. all connected by the Tampa Riverwalk and the trolley. Follow the Hillsborough river northward and you will find the Hillsborough River State Park where a carload of nature lovers can have a great deal of fun for only $6.
Living in one of these locations sets you apart. All of them can be expensive for rent or a home purchase. Because, high demand for so many reasons. College students dream of living in Hyde Park so they can walk to Hyde Park Village or SOHO/ South Howard Avenue.
Westshore is home to the most affluent neighborhood in South Tampa. It is also very close to the International Plaza, Tampa International Airport, Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play and shopping and dining options are everywhere. Westshore has Beach Park, Beach Park Isles and even an actual beach park with white sand on Tampa Bay. The median household income in South Tampa is rather high.
MacDill Air Force Base is on the southern tip of South Tampa. While not among the wealthiest neighborhoods in Tampa Bay it is a valued location and home to many of the important people who live in Tampa.
