Ben T Davis Beach or Davis Islands Beach are the best beaches inside of the city of Tampa. Clearwater Beach and St Pete Beach are the best beaches for families within the Tampa Bay Area. Parking is a challenge no matter where you go and go ahead and download the ParkMobile APP.
This beach is located on the southeastern side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway between the Tampa International Airport and Clearwater Beach. This is not a dog beach but there is beach volleyball, picnic shelters, and a white sand beach. The Beach on Davis Islands in South Tampa FL has an adjacent dog park and dog beach. Also a great starting location for the Courtney Campbell Trail.
You will also find more than ample parking and two adjacent and nearby restaurants. Considering it is close to the downtown Tampa area it certainly has some natural beauty to take in as well. We consider this one of the kid friendly beaches. There is a great boat ramp just a couple of miles to the west.
Clearwater and Clearwater Beach combine to make a great beach town. Clearwater Beach is a barrier island and has much more than just amazing white sandy beaches with those turquoise waters from the Gulf Coast caressing them. The beach has a nightly sunset celebration by Pier 60 which has to be seen.
Saint Pete's beach is thought to be one of the more family friendly beaches in the Tampa Bay area. It is certainly one of the more beautiful beaches and St Petersburg Beach has some amazing and well established hotels. This beach would be more popular if it were closer to the downtown area of St Petersburg FL as it is to far from Tampa Florida and it's beach town is inferior to that of Clearwater Beach. Other popular beaches between Clearwater Beach and here include the following.
Bellaire Beach
Indian Rocks Beach
Redington Beach
Madeira Beach
Treasure Island
Honeymoon Island State Park and Caladesi Island State Park are minutes away from Clearwater Beach to the north in Dunedin ( Doo-Nee-Din) Florida. This is where you go in Tampa Bay to find white sand beaches, sea turtles, a private nature trail and basically a beautiful nature preserve. The powdery white sand here makes for a fantastic destination just like the other beaches to the south.
I would only visit this area if I was time restricted and on the east side of Tampa Bay. There is a white sand beach on the northern end of the wildlife refuge-preserve but this is more of a hassle than it is worth. From the beach you get a great view of a large factory. Better choices include...
Archibald Beach Park
Sunset Beach
Fort De Soto Beach & Fort De Soto Park
Madeira Beach (amazing annual seafood festival)
Pass A Grille Beach
Key Island
As you can see there are no shortage of options in the Tampa Bay area. Tampa Florida is a great place to live or to visit and we have just scratched the surface. If you own a private boat a whole new world opens to you. Let us know if we can help you relocate near one of the family friendly beaches in Tampa Florida.
