The town is designed for you. That is what is so special about Clearwater Beach. It is totally inclusive and everyone possible is accommodated. The city took the phrase what will people want, and just went crazy with it. From white sand beaches to a ride on a pirate ship everything is right here.
Yes the beach walk everything is within walking distance. When you experience Clearwater Beach it is best done without a car. Like Waikiki Beach in Hawaii a car just gets in the way and slows down people trying to cross the streets. Public transportation is available to transport you to and from the sun soaked beach and many other locations.
At the Clearwater Beach marinas you will be able to rent just about ever type of water sports equipment imaginable. If there is a market strong enough for it you can bet someone will rent it to you. Jet skiing, deep sea fishing and all types of cruise ships are available at the nearby marina.
You have two local choices to learn more about the local marine life. I suggest a trip to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium first. It is rather expensive but it is also very expansive with both dolphins and sea turtles. You can spend hours there and the inquisitive mind will learn and experience things that will impress upon them for a lifetime. You will see the Clearwater Marine Aquarium on the north side or FL-60 when you first visit Clearwater Beach.
Next up is Caladesi Island State Park and possibly even Honeymoon Island State Park. Of the two the two Honeymoon Island Stat Park is the furthest away but also has the most to offer. Like Caladesi Island State Park nature trails and beautiful beaches are the main attractions.
As amazing as they are you can only spend so much time on those sugar white sands. From spring break to memorial day weekend you can really get your fill of the sun in just a few hours. The good news is that Pinellas County knows that a popular destination needs more than just turquoise water and local bars.
All you have to do is walk across the street from Pier 60 to the marina to find a wide variety of cruises and bat tours. Then after you return Clearwater Florida will be waiting with more outdoor activities both in the downtown area and around the pedestrian friendly Beach Walk and Pier 60 where things are just starting to come alive.
Street performers, amazing views of the sunset and live entertainment is suddenly al around you. Not only are the best beaches on the Gulf Coast here but so is the ultimate small town atmosphere.
After spending a couple of weeks in Clearwater Beach you will run out of things to see and to do. At that point you may begin to get curious about places close to popular beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Public transportation is available to downtown Clearwater.
Modern, hip and open year round you will feel like you won another treasure hunt. The western end is the local favorite for the arts, live music and waterfront entertainment. You may have noticed it on your way to the island as you were taking in the stunning views from the bridge. I have no doubt you will learn to love Clearwater and Clearwater Beach FL.
