What Are The Best Months To Go To The Beach In Florida

What Are The Best Months To Go To The Beach In Florida?

June, July and August are the best months to go to the beach in Florida. That applies to all beaches in Florida from Panama City Beach to the Florida Keys. That will mean you visit Florida during hurricane season but this is the peak season for Florida beaches.

Florida Beaches

Summer Months vs Off Season & Fewer Crowds On Florida Beach Destinations

During the summer months is the best time to visit Florida overall. The beaches in the Florida Panhandle and East Coast beaches get to cold to use in North Florida by November. That is the main reason why I suggest visiting Florida during hurricane season. Normally from Daytona Beach northward can get pretty cool starting in October. Central Florida and southward is fine for me in the winter months after all it is called the sunshine state.

The Off season is just fine for South Florida and those who are a little more tolerant can even visit beaches in Tampa Bay or Cocoa Beach. A great combination when visiting the theme parks in Orlando like Walt Disney World or Universal Studios. Cocoa Beach is one hour away and Clearwater Beach is about 2 hours west of Walt Disney World.

Summer Break, Labor Day, Memorial Day Weekend & Spring Break

My advice is to not let these holidays and peak season deter you from visiting. Sure some areas may look like they are overrun with people. However, there are a lot and I do mean a lot of beaches that are amazing most have never discovered. You can find these beaches in Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida with just a little more driving. Make the best of the warm weather and find fewer crowds at amazing off the beaten path beaches.

Visit Florida Keys Beaches? No

Don't think about visiting the Florida Keys to go to a beach. Your going to be disappointed and miss out on a great visit to Florida. Key West is not really for beaches. A Few will disagree because fewer people can fit on those beaches compared to South Beach or a more popular destination.

Miami Beach From Spring Break Through Early September

Very crowded. South Beach or Miami Beach to Fort Lauderdale are always going to be crowded. It gets better as you go further north but even I-95 north is a nightmare. I lived there for a long time and had to commute daily. It is terrible. If Miami Fashion Week is your thing or you are in Miami for some other reason then take public transport to the beach and it will be better. A taxi, Uber etcetera as parking your car there, not a great idea.

A Florida Vacation Gulf Coast Or West Coast Beaches

Hurricane season is also the rainy season. When you visit South Florida, Central Florida or North Florida beaches you will have afternoon thunderstorms. They are just a natural part of our warm weather. Be patient, normally an hour or so and they are gone. During Spring Break and the summer months the daytime temperatures will cool off because of that rain. The average temperatures would be in the high nineties if it were not for them and that awesome ocean breeze. By early fall they will be gone.

Tropical Storms from mid March onward are fairly common. They may sound scary but really they are just thunderstorms that last for a day or so. Bright sunshine and the best weather you can imagine are very common in Tampa Bay year round.
