Amazing and mild is what winter is like in Tampa FL. Mild winters mean an average temperature in the 70's and you can even still swim in the ocean. The average wind speed is perfect and hurricane season is behind us once again. Warm temperatures during the day and about 15 degrees cooler in the evening.
In the Tampa Bay area our weather conditions are tempered by the Atlantic Ocean which is on the west coast. Locally most call it the gulf or Gulf Of Mexico. The water temperature of the gulf and Tampa Bay provide the perfect balance when cold fronts or hotter weather in the summer pass through. That is why the average temperature and average wind speed in Tampa Florida are so amazing.
Out low temperature is typically in January when most cold snaps occur. Yes Tampa Florida even experienced a light snowfall back in 1977 was the last time snow fell. needless to say there was more than a few traffic incidents and the snow did not last very long. You should move to the Tampa Bay area incase we have another.
The rainy season starts around June and runs through October and the hurricane season. Expect tropical storms or at least tropical storm conditions to occur a few times. Many of the thunderstorms in the midwestern US are more severe than the average wind speed you will experience in a weaker tropical storm. Mainly anticipate those afternoon thunderstorms to provide a break from the heat & perceived temperature.
