Wow, that is a tough one. I guess that depends on individual tastes. Since I don't know specifically what each individual would consider the nicest part of Tampa To live I will have to go with overall popularity. That answer would be Culbreath Isles in South Tampa FL overlooking Tampa Bay.
Most young professionals and many college students will prefer Downtown Tampa. Everything is within walking distance and of course the nightlife is exceptional. Our highway system is actually incredible and you can be over on Clearwater Beach or St Pete Beach in 20-30 minutes. Condo or apartment life is not the only option. There are a few townhomes in the downtown area, all things considered quite a few consider Downtown Tampa to be the nicest Tampa neighborhood.
Hyde Park is located just over the Hillsborough River to the west of Downtown Tampa. Hyde Park is another location though of for college students and young professionals. The area is amazing and includes Hyde Park Village and SOHO or South Howard Avenue. Expect to find shopping, dining and a vibrant social scene. Housing will range from homes built in the mid/ early 1900's to the most modern homes you could imagine.
Not everyone would call this area a Tampa neighborhood. But, I own the site and I do. I also have more than one full blood Cuban lady in my family and we all appreciate the culture you can find in Ybor City. If you are appreciative of it than Maybe Ybor City is right for you.
However, this is one of those Tampa neighborhoods that is known for its vibrant nightlife and popularity with partiers. You will see them arrive on the TECO line streetcar from Downtown Tampa as well. The cost of housing in this area is more affordable than many of the more affluent neighborhoods like Hyde Park.
Yes, Harbour Island is an amazing place to live with just about every type of home available. Most of the island is behind a secure gated community entrance. You will be amazed with what is available on the island and it is fairly affordable. all you have to do is pass over the channel and you are there. Many walk to and from Downtown Tampa to Harbour Island daily as I have on occasion. Harbour island is one of the best Tampa neighborhoods.
Davis Islands is one of the places I would consider moving to. I and somewhat of a house and lifestyle snob but, Davis Islands is known to have some people like me, that is with similar tastes. The median household income on Davis Islands is fairly high but so is the quality of life. It is definitely one of the best neighborhoods in Tampa and, it has the cities best hospital located on it. To me this is the nicest part of Tampa to live in.
