The nicest area around Tampa depends on your individual taste and how you define area. If you mean Tampa neighborhoods then Davis Islands, downtown Tampa, Harbour Island, South Tampa, Hyde Park and Westshore in that order. South Tampa neighborhoods could of course be broken down further.
The two most popular beaches are Clearwater Beach and St Pete Beach. Each has an associated city that is also within Tampa Bay. Those are St Petersburg and Clearwater FL. Other than that following by price and internet traffic you will once again have downtown Tampa, Davis Islands, Harbour Island, South Tampa and Hyde Park. Some will say Ybor City but that depends on individual taste.
Downtown Tampa is pretty much unrivaled in Central Florida. There are some amazing condominiums and townhomes within the downtown area. Want things to do? The Tampa nightlife is a good as you want it to be. Young professions and college students are flocking to the city as it is youthful and vibrant. Some of the attractions include the Tampa Riverwalk, Tampa Bay Lightning, Sparkman Wharf, Channel District, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, the Florida Aquarium and of course fantastic restaurants.
The housing prices here do not tell a lie. Although not the highest the median home price here is very high when you consider how many homes there are here. Separated from the mainland by the channel the homes here can reach into tens of millions each. There is a private beach, marinas and even an airport for those who do not wish to travel to Tampa International Airport. After all the latter is a 20 minute drive.
Yes, one of the best neighborhoods and a family friendly neighborhood is also an island. Actually there is a mixture of every type of home other than a mobile home on this island. The communities are all gated or guarded including the condos along the channel. If walking from your home to the entertainment district and downtown Tampa this is the lace to live in Tampa.
Hyde Park is a trendy and classy part of Tampa Florida. SOHO or Florida's version of South Howard is also located in the Hyde Park area. Hyde Park Village is the modern and of course trendy area and both parts of Hyde Park have a high median home value fine dining, nightclubs and are filled with young professionals.
South Tampa is where you find MacDill Air Force Base. Although not among the most affluent neighborhoods we are glad MacDill is here. Along the eastern side of South Tampa is Bayshore Boulevard which is lined with condos and overlooks Hillsborough Bay to downtown Tampa and yes, Davis Islands.
The most affluent neighborhood in all of Tampa is Culbreath Isles which is located along the western coast and in an area described as Westshore. In the same area you will find Beach Park, International Plaza and some of the other wealthiest neighborhoods in Tampa. What are you waiting on?
