The Tampa Riverwalk is located in Downtown Tampa and runs along the Hillsborough River and the Garrison Channel to the Channelside District or within a short stroll of it. Downtown Tampa is an amazing and modern city filled with interesting things to do and captivating scenery. If your visiting Tampa Bay then the Tampa Riverwalk is a must see attraction.
I will be mentioning a lot of attractions you will be seeing or within just a few steps of when strolling along the Tampa Riverwalk. Is suggest starting your stroll along the Tampa Riverwalk near one of its ends. Parking is usually fairly easy but prices will vary according to demand. The best restaurant is Armature Works at the northern end and rarely will there not be parking.
Tampa Museum of Art and the Glazer Children's Museum will both be easily accessible along the Tampa Riverwalk as will be the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Kids love the splash pad in front of Glazers. On your way there from Armature Works you will see the Straz Center for performing arts which looks amazing at night complimenting the city skyline.
From the Tampa River walk looking westward across the Hillsborough River you will see the Pirate Ship. The Amalie Arena is just off of the riverwalk. You may see it as you take your leisurely stroll. As you continue on you will have the option to take a Pirate Water Taxi or tour on the Bay Rocket as you approach Sparkman Wharf. As you can see all is present for an amazing time to be had.
Other fun things include interactive exhibits in Glazer Children's Museum, lost of parks and outdoor tables, an amazing view everywhere you look, local history at the museums, a dog park and the Florida Aquarium. If you prefer you can even take a local electric scooter. Alcoholic beverages are allowed if purchased at approved locations and in specific cups. Enjoy the breathtaking views and sunset along the paved walkway we call the Tampa Riverwalk.
