What Kind Of People Live In Tampa FL?

A slightly different kind of people live in Tampa FL than live in the greater Tampa Bay area. Let us start with the city of Tampa Florida and then get to Tampa Bay. I will do my best to use the appropriate names to help differentiate these two areas.

Tampa Florida

The City Of Tampa Florida

The actual city of Tampa is located in the eastern part of the Tampa Bay area. The city itself is filled with a more business oriented, home body class. In other words less tourist and residents here want everything most people want around their homes.

First Class Residents & Home Town Pride

Did you know that one day a week the Glazer Children's Museum opens up for free? Yes, You can bring children for free and trust me it fills up in there. The museum is designed for children and most of them love it. How many go who could not afford it normally? Can you imagine Walt Disney World doing that? Your money is where your heart is and this Tampa Museum has theirs on display. Tampa FL is a great place to live and this is just one example.

What Makes Good People?

Hopefully whoever reads this is interested in the truth. You find great people everywhere, and mixed in with them you find some with their own issues who tend to have a negative affect on others around them. I walk around downtown Tampa all of the time with no concerns.

Statistically I feel just fine there although yes, I lock my vehicle. I did witness much more crime personally when I lived in South Florida, namely south Miami where the Publix Supermarket parking lot was not a safe place. In one year I witnessed several robberies in the parking lot. I have not seen one in Tampa yet neither have I seen as many crazy and rude drivers.

Tampa Bay Metro Area

The Tampa Bay area is massive. It is easiest just to consider it from the city of Tampa FL to the west coast or Gulf of Mexico. As soon as you cross over the actual Bay or "Tampa Bay" as in the body of water you are in a different world. Mainly Clearwater and St Petersburg FL. This area has more of a Fort Lauderdale or Miami Beach feel but better beaches.

The People Who Live In West Tampa Bay

Proud of their city and what you could call, live and let live. As you would expect the beach area and lifestyle is the primary source of income there so the cities are fairly focused on preserving it. A great reputation is the best way to attract tourist and yes they have a police force.

Between Clearwater Beach, St Pete Beach and the City limits of Tampa Florida there is a large residential area. An International Airport, Museums and many park areas. You will most likely still use Tampa International Airport (flight availability) but Clearwater may have a flight for you. Expect good neighbors who stay out of your business, unless you have a crazy HOA. You will find the people who live in Tampa to be exceptional people as a general rule.
