What Are The Advantages To Living In Tampa FL?

Living in Tampa Florida is living in the best part of the Tampa Bay area. Some would argue that and it is based on certain assumptions. Namely the price point of the area you live in. I am considering an average price home in Tampa Bay compared to an average priced home in Tampa FL and the area likely surrounding those homes.

Tampa Bay is a much larger area that just the city of Tampa FL. You could say it is all of Tampa Florida westward to the Gulf of Mexico. It just gets a little to beach oriented for most of us when you get west of Tampa FL, the city. After all we can be at the beaches and parked in 30 to 45 minutes on an average day. Truth be known, most Tampa residents of the city rarely travel to the beaches as it is awesome enough here.

Living In Tampa

Living in Tampa Florida means no state income tax. It also means your cost of living is actually similar to the national average and so to is the median income similar to the national average. With no state income tax you will/ should be able to live more comfortably.

Extreme Weather Florida

Sorry, South Florida gets to lay claim on having the most hurricane prone area. We do rank higher with Tampa Bay Lightning in more ways than one but living in Tampa you are safer from hurricanes as we have not been directly hit in around 100 years and downtown Tampa is 20 feet above sea level. Seldom will you see any natural disasters here. We even have fewer tropical storms although tropical storms generally affect everywhere in Florida.

Hillsborough County School District

Compared to South Florida living in Tampa has good schools if you go by middle schools and high schools. We do have Universities as well and many living in Tampa transition from high school directly to higher education right here in the Tampa area. We are the third largest city and probably the smartest.

Professional Sports & Year Round Outdoor Activities

Let's face it. Tampa Florida rules over any other Florida city when it comes to professional sports. The Tampa Bay Lightning (National Hockey League), Tampa Bay Football and no other city compares. Tampa offers outdoor activities including everything that many cities in Florida offer with less traffic congestion. We offer and active lifestyle filled with fun things and a more family friendly environment.
