Wondering how to get from Tampa to Universal Studios? Well you are in luck as I have made this journey many times. Depending on which of the theme parks or what part of Walt Disney World you are headed to Universal Studios can actually be quicker to get to from anywhere in Tampa.
I might upset some local businesses here but get a car or drive your own. Yes, you can take a cab, uber, bus but get a car. The drive is only about an hour and a half and you can not beat the ability to make your own decisions while traveling or after you get to Universal Orlando.
A bus will leave you tired and frustrated. Uber can be a guessing game and cabs, well bust out that checkbook. Not to mention you cannot stop at Plant City or some of the other attractions if you so choose. I realize most people will not see this short article. But know that it was written by a human being who has made this journey and had many friends and relative visit us and make the journey other ways.
Yes, the best place to stay if you are planning on multiple stays to enjoy Universal Studios and the surrounding attractions. Many first time visitors do not realize how much more there is to experience around Universal Studios. There is Volcano Bay (shown above) which is definitely an all day thing. We go a couple of times a year. You can also visit other attractions like the Wheel at Icon Park and the many nearby touristy places along International Drive aka I-Drive.
