Is Tampa Ocean Clear?

The Tampa Ocean is clear. The Atlantic Ocean is typically referred to as the Gulf, Gulf Coast or Gulf of Mexico by locals. It is clear and has a slight green tint to it usually. The white sand beaches resemble sugar and have a pleasant feel on your feet like a cooler sandy beach should.

Tampa Bay & Old Tampa Bay

Tampa Bay is often clear all things considered. The silt from the local estuary and an occasional algae bloom are the primary culprits. If you are from the mid-west you will still think that it is clear. Tampa Bay is typically referred to as the northern part of the bay, Old Tampa Bay is the southern and the bay nearest the city of Tampa FL is Hillsborough Bay.

Clearwater Beach & Florida's Gulf Coast

Amazing water clarity is often and these are likely the most beautiful powdery white sand beaches in South Florida. Florida beaches are legendary and ours are better than the ones on the east coast. I have lived in all parts of Florida and all things considered, Clearwater beach and St Pete Beach are my favorites.

The Atlantic Ocean, white beach sand, Honeymoon Island State Park, Caladesi Island State Park and the barrier Islands themselves. Get out there and enjoy because the Tampa Ocean is clear.
