Yes, snow does fall in Tampa Florida. The last time we had snow in Tampa 1977. January 19th, Tampa Snow 1977 was a fairly famous occurrence. It was a light snow of only about 2 inches and it was a once in a lifetime experience for Tampa Bay residents as we very rarely ever even see freezing temperatures.
South Florida is obviously one of the warmer places in America. Florida after all is the sunshine state for a reason. When it snowed in Tampa Bay the drivers did not know what to do on icy roads. Yes there were approximately 200 accidents and nearly 80 people were hospitalized according to the Tampa Bay Times. Most likely you had to get up pretty early to enjoy a snowball fight and by mid morning the snow was pretty sloppy or just gone. The average temperature in January here is in the low 70's to the low 50's.
If you are looking for snow in Florida you will see it more often above Interstate 10. Central Florida certainly does not have much of it. Tallahassee occasionally will see an accumulation of snowfall but you will be safe in Orlando, Miami Beach or the Tampa Bay-Tampa Florida area.
